István Várdai Cello Recital

Mr. Várdai is a gifted young Hungarian whose playing on the cello is commendable for its fluidity and virtuosity, and distinguished by both a fleet-fingered lightness and a rich timbre. Mr. Várdai plays a Montagnana cello from 1720, and since his debut concert in 1998 in The Hague, he has performed in New York, London, Paris, Prague, Vienna, Frankfurt, Munich, Geneva, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Florence, Tokyo, Kobe, Beijing with great success.

Don’t miss a chance to catch the rising star who won the ARD Cello Competition in Munich in 2014 and was awarded Hungary’s highest classical music honour, the Liszt Prize. He will also be accompanied by the prize-winning Zoltán Fejérvári who has performed with several Hungarian orchestras, like the T-Com Symphony Orchestra, the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra and the Budapest Strings.
